Best Practices - Healthcare Facilities
Hospitals, Private Doctor Offices, Urgent Care Centers, Clinics, Speciality Medical Offices and other healthcare facilities
Healthcare facilities such as doctors offices, urgent care facilities and hospitals can be a challenge. We find that the best time to photograph these important spaces is before they are open to the public but fully furnished and ready for move it. The timing can be very challenging. If the space is occupied we will need to abide by HIPAA regulations and any restrictions the facility has. It is always helpful to meet with staff from the facility to go over the plan and get their input as to how they space should be photographed. Is the machinery in the correct place or is a room setup to look as it naturally would? Creating a realistic photograph is important. We do not want to capture an image only to be told that the MRI machine would never be positioned like that in real life. Preparation and communication is key to successfully photographing clinics, hospitals and medical facilities
During a walkthrough of the space is a great time to meet with the tenant and their facilities people to go over our plan. The more communication we have the more comfortable they will be with letting us photograph the space.
When working with the tenant it is always important to adjust to their schedule. Do they mind if we are in the space during office hours or would they prefer us to photograph over a weekend? Are there areas that are sensitive and should not be photographed? Another element is to make sure we have access to the lighting in the space. This is important for interiors and also exteriors.
