One of our favorite subjects to photograph are schools. Architectural photography of education buildings, ranging from pre-K to higher educational spaces, plays a crucial role in showcasing the design, functionality, and atmosphere of these environments Our projects have ranged from ECE spaces to large university campuses. Seeing the change in the way our students learn and navigate a campus compared to the spaces that we were taught in, is absolutely incredible. The thought and care that go into how students learn best and how that is reflected in their space is such a joy. Educational campuses can also have a wide variety of spaces from technical labs to sports facilities and everything in between. Although there are certainly challenges when it comes to photographing schools, we have developed a reliable plan over the years that will produce great results in the images. We aim to capture the functionality and spatial organization of educational interiors, showcasing how the design facilitates learning, collaboration, and social interaction. This may involve capturing classrooms, lecture halls, laboratories, and study areas to highlight their layout, furniture arrangement, and technological infrastructure. Many campuses and newer buildings feature sustainable practices and designs. We love to highlight these areas and showcase the thought that was put into them. When photographing exterior buildings on campuses, showing students and staff in the images is a great way to give a sense of community as well as show connectivity, landscape and circulation.
