Pricing and Expenses

Creative Fee ⚙️
The Creative Fee starts at $2,000 for a standard day (8-10 hours) and $2,500 for an extended day (more than 10 hours or includes dusk/dawn images). This fee covers the time, skill, and care that go into each project. This includes everything from planning and client meetings to location scouting visits and making sure the right equipment is ready to go. It’s charged on a per-day basis. In a standard day shoot, I’m typically able to deliver around 12–15 carefully composed images.
All of this information is on average— every project is a little different and the final image count, hours, etc can vary depending on the space, lighting, and specific needs of the shoot.

Cost Sharing 🔗
Cost Sharing is a great way to stay in budget on a photography project. Adding one additional party to the project can save you up to 30% on the final photography cost. Depending on the number of parties, a percentage is added to the Creative + Licensing Fees and all parties split that total cost.
Example: If the Creative & Licensing total is $5,000 and one additional party is cost sharing, the total becomes $6,500 ($5,000 × 30%). But instead of one company paying the original cost of $5,000, the parties split the cost ($6,500/2 = $3,250 per party)
1 additional party - 30%
2 additional parties - 25%
3 or more parties - 20%

Licensing 📷
We offer very broad licensing on our images so that you can use the images how you want. Images are licensed in perpetuity for unlimited use at $125/image. The client is not to distribute or share the photos with others. Images can be licensed and this must be obtained directly from Brad Nicol Photography.
Ownership/Copyright remains with Brad Nicol Photography.

Retouching 🛠️
Every package includes standard retouching to make your photos look their best. This retouching includes blending multiple exposures for more dynamic, detailed images; color correction for natural and accurate tones; and cleanup to remove small visual distractions—like light switches, motion detectors, power outlets, cords, clutter, dust, stains, and minor blemishes on walls, floors, or furniture.
Advanced Retouching
For more complex edits—such as removing large objects, intensive cleanup, or detailed image manipulation, I offer advanced retouching at an additional rate of $75 per hour. Any advanced retouching will be discussed during the scouting trip or during post-production. An estimate for Advanced Retouching will be given before additional edits are made. -
Assistant/s 👏
My assistant(s) are a crucial part to a successful project. In addition to lighting set up, spaces are rarely able to be captured as is and extra hands are often needed to rearrange furniture or tidy up a space before we are ready to produce an image. Depending on the projects, having one or more assistants will speed this process up and help create a successful photoshoot.

Travel ✈️
We love to travel! This year alone we have photographed for clients all over Colorado, California, Nevada, Utah, and Texas. Being able to create consistency in your portfolio is key and having the same photographer work on your projects will ensure that you have a cohesive and consistent portfolio showing your best work.
Depending on where our project takes us, travel costs vary. For projects outside of the Denver Metro area, we charge standard mileage rates and if needed, a travel day fee along with any hotel or meal costs. For projects that are not are not drivable, additional charges may include: travel day, hotels, meals, flights, rental car, and parking, as needed. All travel expenses are attached to the invoice.
