Roosevelt Middle and High School

BTS of the Project

We were approached by our long time clients TreanorHL and Adolfson & Peterson well in advance of the shoot dates. A great way to do a site visit before the shoot was to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony at the high school and take a tour of the site. Along with project team we walked to the space with the marketing coordinator to begin the planning. This high school and middle school were scheduled for 2 full days of photography each, 4 days total, with an additional afternoon/evening at each school for some exteriors. The toughest part of planning a photoshoot at a k-12 site is the coordination with faculty and staff. The folks at Roosevelt were fantastic to work with. We always try to be mindful of students and active classrooms when photographing. We have found that working with an empty classroom and using dedicated model/students to populate the space is best. Sometimes we can capture common areas when they are naturally being used. Overall the success of photoshoots at schools comes down to a lot of pre-planning, coordination and experience. These two schools and our clients were great to work work with and we loved the results.
